School Store
The school store’s inception was in 2013. At that time, the high school DECA organization utilized the store as their business. In late 2020, the former superintendent, Rhonda Dean, approached the Booster Club with a proposal for the school store operations. It was known that the Boosters were looking for a way to be more present in the community to sell Rocket spiritwear. It was determined that moving forward with a partnership between Boosters and DECA would be a good fit for both organizations. In early 2021, the Boosters began to rent the space from the school district, financially fund the inventory and equipment and manage the operations. The DECA organization and members’ partnership have and continue to be an integral part of the school store.. They have continued to grow their responsibilities and gain valuable business knowledge. They have taken on more and more tasks and duties to help with the success of the store. Proceeds from the school store benefit students in grades 7-12 in Arts and Activities in the Rockford School District.
